Moong Dal Khichdi For Babies

Ingredians
- Rice – 2tbsp
- Moong dal – 2tbsp
- Small onion
- Small tomato
- Ginger – 1/2 inch finely chopped
- One garlic clove
- Turmeric powder – a pinch
- Vegetables – 1cup chopped
- 4 cups water
- Salt as per taste
- 1 tbsp. ghee to serve
Preparation
Wash moong dal and rice and soak it in water for 10 min. Slice onions and chop tomato’s finely and wash and chop all vegetables finely. and chop ginger and garlic.
Method
1. Heat a pressure cocker with ghee. Add cumin seeds. Let it crackle. Then add chopped onions and ginger garlic. Sauté it them until the onions turns light golden brown color.
2. Once onions becomes transparent , add tomatoes until it becomes soft , and add chopped vegetables , pepper and turmeric powder and requires salt and give a quick stir.
3. Add soaked moong dal and rice , sauté it them for 2minutes, Add required water bring it to boil, and then close the lid of pressure cocker and cock everything in medium flame for three to four whistles. Once pressure cocker releases, open the pressure cocker mash the khichdi slowly. and the khichdi is ready to serve
4. serve to the bowl with ghee.

Notes :
- You could make this khichdi without vegetables.
- Make sure to introduce everything separate before you try this khichdi for babies.
- You can add any type of vegetables as your choice
- You can skip ginger for small babies

- Make ragi slurry, take 4 table spoons of ragi flour or ragi sprouted flour in bowl
- Add 1/2 cup water
- Using small wired whisk or spoon mix the ragi flour with the water very well, make sure there is no lumps in mixture.
- Cocking ragi in a heavy or thick-bottomed bowl or pan, take 2cups of water. Bring the water to a rolling boil on a medium to medium – high heat
